Our experiment with growing flowers has turned out to be a fun experience for everyone who visited and supported our local farm. Thank you all! We have over 3000 square feet to our small but pretty, well I am biased, little flower farm. As we did last year, the flowers have been grown from seed in the field and early seed starting in our greenhouse. Using the greenhouse gave us the opportunity to try and grow more flower varieties that may not be commonly found locally. It continues to be a learning process, but that is half the fun.
Why flowers? Well, I love fresh flowers or just any pretty natural cutting to bring in the house and most of our friends share that love, so we thought, maybe more folks would enjoy locally grown fresh flowers.
Visit us at the farm this flower season on Thursday and Saturday mornings from 8:30am-12:30pm. 2024 Opening Day will be Saturday Jun 29th.
While shopping for flowers we will have some wonderful seasonal items for purchase in our gift shop:
You can also get our beautiful flowers via our online store, at Jean's Neighborhood Market and Cloer Family Vineyards or by visiting us at the Apex Farmers Market. The Market is on Saturdays from 8a-12n in downtown Apex.
Days we will be at the Market:
April 27
May 18 and 25
June 1, 15, 29
July 6, 13, 27
August 10, 24, 31
September 14, 28
October 5, 12
Have you ever wanted to walk out to your yard and have a beautiful flower garden that allows you to create your own personal flower bouquets week after week? Let us help with our curated summer flower garden collection. This collection will include 25 potted plants and 5 dahlia tubers to fill a 25-30 squared foot area. A sample planting guide and plant information will be included. Great gift for that special someone or for Mom on Mother's Day. Orders end April 5th.
A CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. This means that you are investing in our farm to help us provide you with beautiful flowers when they start blooming. Your investment or “subscription” in the off season will help us pay for expenses that occur before growing season begins. This includes seeds, supplies, compost, fertilizer, and so much more.
For 2024 we will offer 2, 6 consecutive week Flower Subscriptions (CSA opportunities):
Want to do something different for a girl's night out, family gathering, club activity, child(>/=12yo) or adult birthday or any celebration, why not go flower pickin!!
Come have a Flower Party!
Parking
All parking will be at the main lot near the Christmas shop (the red barn). There may be some construction materials in the parking lot so please park leaving plenty of space between your car and the materials. Also, when parking please make sure your car is not blocking other cars from entering or exiting.
What Should You Bring?
Tables will be available if you would like to do your flower arrangement during your visit with us. Children are welcome and encouraged to take part in the fun. We ask parents to stay with their children at all times and do not allow them to wander in the fields or barns. Most children 10 and up are able to follow the flower cutting process and have alot of fun gathering flowers on their own.
Please DO NOT Bring
How Flower Selection Works
3 ways to purchase flowers:
If you opt for the U-pick method, you are welcome to arrange your flower bouquet(s) in the containers you brought while at the farm.
Do you love pickin' flowers? Pick up a "Flower Power Card". Once you purchase 4 pitchers, buckets or bouquets of flowers you can get a U-Pick pitcher of flowers (a $25 value) free.
Please arrive at least 30 mins before closing time to select your items, especially if you will be staying to arrange your bouquet(s).
Photographers
Photographers are welcome during the summer months at our farm. Please see the Photographer page of this website for details.
The best answer is NO. While many of our flowers and herbs are edible for humans, pets may not tolerate them. Some of our flowers can be toxic to animals and humans so best to wash hands thoroughly after handling the flowers and keep them away from pets and children.
